    Saved my transmission and thousands of $$

    My 2000 Accord had started slipping at a bit over 100,000 miles, especially in 1st and 2nd gear. It ended up triggering the engine warning light. Took it into the dealership and they said the torque converter was going and that I needed to replace the transmission with a rebuilt to the tune of $4,500.I did some research online and found out that Honda has had many problems with their post year 2000 transmissions in several vehicles, including the Accord. But several people had replaced their transmission fluid with Red Line D4 ATF and also installed an inline Magnefine AFT filter. (Honda's ATF filter is internal to the transmission and is not changeable.) Seeing that many others had good results, I figured the $50-60 for the price of an full ATF change it was worth a try.Immediately after doing a full fluid replacement (and I mean the very first drive) I noticed a dramatic improvement in the shifting.     RED LINE TRANNY FLUID FROM AMAZON

    hi guys.......toyota uses good fluids from the factory.....when you change to red line......you will notice your tranny running better.....every year i do 10,000 miles.....i have a drain plug on my toyota solara so i drop what comes out of the pan only.... usually 3 quarts.....and i replace it with red line synthetic.....$30 dollars a year and my tranny smells and performs better than new....always pink and a strong odor.....this is the best way to keep your tranny new.....if you dont follow this and wait for the color to change to darker and no odor then your tranny is wearing out sooner than later....i have other things to do with $2000 dollars than replace my tranny....i also use mobil 1 in the oil...there are other quality brands out there that may work as well.....i can speak for RED LINE only....the bomb....i will never use anything... 5/5 joey 300 (new york) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?)     I wish I'd had this years ago.

    I've owned my 02 Acura RSX Type S since new in August 2001. It is still the best and most fun car I've ever owned in my 50 years of driving. The only complaint I've ever had was shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. The speed of the car, whether sedate or aggressive didn't seem to matter. The ratio jump between 1st and 2nd gears is substantial and it was always clunky, sometimes grinding. Down shifting was never an issue from 3rd to 2nd.In the last few years I've tried several things to improve the shifting. I started with a short throw shift lever from B&M which seemed to help, but in reality caused the shift cable end to bend, because of the design of the lever. What had helped was the removal of the rubber bushings that mounted the shifter housing to the floor of the car, the B&M kit included aluminum bushings to replace the originals.     Originally ordered a B&M cooler for my 2012 Honda Odyssey, but when that arrived the build quality(made in Mexico) was terrible and it was returned. You can look up that review for more info. I ordered this Hayden and hoped for the best. It arrived today, and WOW!!! awesome quality. Made in Australia!!!! NOT Mexico, China, Taiwan, Indonesia, etc., etc.. Perfectly aligned fins, soldered / brazed perfectly straight, lays perfectly flat. Cooling fins between plated are micro-louvered and look to be the best in the industry for cooling airflow. If you are a gizmo nut like me, wait till you see them. They look amazing. Nothing like the poorly designed fins on the B&M. I trust this design 100% with no reservations at all. I will never use another brand of cooler. Also, The B&M came with 3/8 barb ends similar to this, but the B&M came with 3/8 hose.     Light and sturdy but......

    I ordered this because a customer specifically wants this one. It showed up in a flimsy package with a short hose and some condenser mounting plastic ties, missing the fitting shown in the picture. It is light and sturdy. However, I wouldn't recommend this comparing to the B&M 70268, compatible in size & price. 1st, the B&M comes with all kinds of fitting and mounting materials including screws, strips and metal braces which you can mount it any way, any where you like. I don't like mounting it directly on the condenser which may cause damage down the road and sometime you have to remove the radiator to access. The B&M body is heaver and sturdier then the Hayden. As for functionality, I believe the B&M provides better fluid flow since there are 37 bigger duct fins vs 30 thin ones and the heavier aluminum provide better heat dissipation which also contributes to better cooling.     Seems to work great

    I have a 2004 4.0L Explorer.It does not have the tow package from the factory which included a trans cooler, 2inch hitch, and 3.73 gearsMine had stock the class 2 1.25" hitch and 3.55'sI added the 2 inch hitch but NOT the gears. Instead I partly justified that by buying this cooler as it is alot bigger than I really otherwise needed (about 2-3x the size of the stock tow package cooler).the tow rating on my Explorer with a tow package is 5,300lbs, with the V8 it is 6900So knowing that the vehicle was rated for the weight (I would only be lacking 20 horse and 30 torque) I decided to take my Explorer to tow my buddies Jeep that broke down...twice.Even with the 3.55's 7000lbs behind the Explorer and pulling a 10% grade for 4 miles or so (I live in a mountainous area) the transmission never overheated or gave me any trouble.
