About this book
As U.S. and Canadian automakers and dealers face bankruptcy and Toyota battles unprecedented quality-control problems, Lemon-Aid guides steer the confused and anxious buyer through the economic meltdown unlike any other car-and-truck books on the market.Phil Edmonston, Canada's automotive "Dr. Phil" for more than 40 years, pulls no punches. In this all-new guide he says: Chrysler's days are numbered with the dubious help of Fiat. Electric cars and ethanol power are PR gimmicks. Diesel and natural gas are the future. Be wary of "zombie" vehicles: Jaguar, Land Rover, Saab, and Volvo. Mercedes-Benz -- rich cars, poor quality. There's only one Saturn you should buy. Toyota -- enough apologies: "when you mess up, 'fess up."

Dead after 15 months - Works on my 08 Tacoma with steel wheels

2014-04-27 Update: Dropping to two stars. Over the winter I had a TPMS sensor fail. I don't drive the truck much, so I opted to ignore the light until the weather warmed up. Yesterday I found the bad sensor; it's the one I replaced in the fall of 2012. I need another sensor but it won't be a Dorman product this time.Original review:Does not fit flat against the wheel as the instructions say it should but it is close. At first, I didn't think it was going to work with my Tacoma. I programmed the sensor ID into my truck and waited for a response thinking it would report a 0psi reading before I installed it. I waited about 10 minutes and the truck did not receive a signal from the sensor. I placed the sensor in a pressurized tank and my truck almost immediately picked up the signal. I'm not sure how low the threshold is, but the sensor appears to not transmit at 0 psi...I assume that is by design so the battery is not running down while the sensor is... 2/5 nhbill - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) as described

0 5/5 Chris2014 - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Dorman 974-033 Toyota Tire Pressure Monitor System (Automotive) The item works perfectly. I was a little apprehensive, based on some of the other ratings. I spec'd this item for my particular model of car, '08 toyota corolla. I was able to encode the item's ID into my car's computer via a 3rd party. The item did not transmit a signal while uninstalled. I could not provoke it with a "wake up" or "turn on" procedure. Some people suggest magnets to wake these things up. I subjected it to 35psi pressure in a test vessel, and it worked as expected. I cannot comment on the battery life yet. In summary: ensure the code is entered in the cars computer and pressurize before concluding its defective. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , May 6, 2014

This review is from: Dorman 974-033 Toyota Tire Pressure Monitor System (Automotive) Saved a lot of money on these aftermarket senors. Tire store installed them and programmed the car to recognize them with no problems. I'd buy them again. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , February 11, 2014
