Since I've lived in Alice Springs for the last 23 years I've tried a lot of different tyres for my bush work, driving 600,000km over vast areas and a multitude of conditions including all but one of our deserts. I've personally found that "desert duellers", for instance, are no such thing, and by any number of others passing through here, that many Cooper's tyres fall well short of the advertising hype, especially with the rubber compound. Worse, when something does go wrong they trot out a pre-prepared list to try and blame it on the customer and their famous "guarantee" is virtually ignored. So it was with trepidation that I looked at Mickey Thomson's for my Prado after I discovered that they were made in the Cooper's factory in the U.S. Anyway, I'd always thought of Mickey Thomson's as "pretty boy, city boy's" tyres. Very Good Tire for the Money

I'm quite impressed with these Baja STZ tires so far. I've put about 5,000 miles on them, with at least 25% of that being gravel and dirt. Where I live in Wyoming we have many unpaved roads that go on for miles, so I do a bit of that, sometimes at rather high speeds. They do quite well in dirt, sand and gravel, much better than the stock all-season tires they replaced on my Nissan Frontier 4x4. What really impressed me was how good they are on pavement, since I didn't expect that. They are smooth, quiet, and hold the road well. No noticeable wear so far and they've held their balance.10 ply truck tires are overkill on my midsized pickup, particularly since I never tow more than 3,000 pounds. I like the fact that the Baja STZ's have a little more load capacity than a typical P-rated tire in 265/75-16 though. Most have a load index of 112 or 114, but these have a 116 load rating. That's a good compromise for me since a 120/123 tire would ride a little rough, and I'd... 5/5 bansko - See all my reviews This review is from: Mickey Thompson Baja STZ Radial - 265/75R16 116T (Automotive) I'm quite impressed with these Baja STZ tires so far. 0 3/5 Amazon Customer - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac Traction Radial Tire - 285/75R16 126P (Automotive) These tires provide very good traction and looks. I purchased a set of 4 285/75 R16 E rated tires for my super duty pickup. They are wearing good for the type of tire, I am about 1/2 way through my tread and I've got about 30k miles on them. They are a bit noisy compared to a highway all terrain tire, but I expected that. Snow traction is ok, mud traction is fantastic. Sidewalls are slightly softer than other E rated tires that I've owned. Overall I'm pleased with these tires. NOTE: 3 star rating given because I purchased one tire because I picked up a large piece of metal in the sidewall a month ago, amazon sent me a black wall tire on both sides, my other 3 tires are RWL and because of the soft sidewalls. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , February 26, 2014

    Great tires, great price

I had these mounted a few days ago. I obviously cannot comment much about the long term quality. These tire do, however, look outstanding. Their ability to grip the road is great, the ride is smooth, and they aren't as loud as many agressive "mud tires" are. The produce a moderate hum at 70 miles per hour, but it can't be considered loud. Asthetically, they look great. The tread extending onto the upper sidewall is a nice touch. While unecessary for most people, it looks great and might actually prove useful at some point, especially during the winter. Another reviewer stated the tires they received were out of balance, but they required only minor adjustments when my friend mounted and balanced them. I've already received several compliments on them. Whie Kenda is typically known for bicycle tires, they have a winner with the KR29 mud tire. Looks great, performs well, now let's see how long they last. Luckily I only average about 7,000 miles per year on my truck... 5/5 Mike - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Kenda Klever M/T KR29 265/75R16 123Q (24297526516EW) Im the type of person that when i get something for my truck, like these tires, im gonna see how well they perform. After putting them on i went digging in the snow with some friend that used to out dig me and nobody can out dig me now. I have really abused them quite a bit and they still look pretty good. They are fairly noisey on the highway but not the worst that ive heard. I plan to buy these again!!! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , March 3, 2013

0 5/5 EerDog - See all my reviews This review is from: Kenda Klever M/T KR29 265/75R16 123Q (24297526516EW) If you need a off road tire then I recommend them. Don't pay $250-$300 for the brands this is the same performance, same look, same wear as those just half the price. My first pair of Kenda M/T, but just ran the Kenda A/T and they wore a little quicker than expected, but again were $50 less a tire. So, price per mile was still really good. These have some road vibration at slow speed (expected) but quickly smooths out. Ride is good, traction is good, with some obvious slipping in snow and ice conditions. I am a forester and I will buy another set in 30,000 miles. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , January 28, 2014

    Great tires!

0 5/5 Ed in Albuquerque - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Hankook DynaPro ATM RF10 Off-Road Tire - 265/75R16 114T (Automotive) I have an 07 xterra, 265/75/16's fit with no issues. We have 51,000 miles on a set of these with no complaints. They are comparable in performance to the BFG AT KO's that we have used in the past but much less expensive. The only drawback to the Hankook's is that they do not have the three ply sidewall like the BFG's. If you are a hard core wheeler these are probably not for you. If you need a decent wearing highway tire, that performs well off-road these are your tires! They have a deep tread which requires rotation about every 10 thousand miles(or else they will start to vibrate when braking), I keep them aired to 40 PSI to keep the TPMS system in the xterra happy. Traction wise they have been equal to the BFG's. Because of the deep tread they are a little noisey but I notice it more around town and coming to a stop than on the highway, but they are not loud (for an all terrain tire) by any means. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , July 19, 2012

I live over 3000 ft elevation with 7% grade goat paths for roads. These track almost like running dry, and are predictable when sliding. Give good feedback. Great tire. Funny thing, they handle even better in the dry! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , November 23, 2013

This review is from: Hankook DynaPro ATM RF10 Off-Road Tire - 265/75R16 114T (Automotive) I bought these for my 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4. I have put about 500 miles on them so far in a variety of terrain, and I have to say that I am very pleased with the performance. I wasn't sure what to expect from such an inexpensive tire, especially off-road, but I have been on mild trail runs so far with great traction and road feel.I have yet to see how they will hold up over time, but for the price, I think they are a great value so far. I will update the review every 6 months for the life of the tires to give you an idea of the performance and to track how long they hold up. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , February 19, 2013
7-8% wider footprint than the competition for increased road contact and grip
Tiered side grooves for more predictable cornering
Deep two-step sipes extend tread life and increase performance on wet roads
Wraparound tread gives a rugged look and increases puncture resistance

0 4/5 BClark - See all my reviews This review is from: BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO Radial Tire - 285/75R16 126Q E1 (Automotive) I have had two or three sets of these All-Terrain KOs on my '04 2500HD Silverado and swear by them! My last set of tires were the BFG Mud-Terrain T/A KM2s but they were too noisy, had huge voids that made them look skinnier than the same size BFG All-Terrains, and dropped my mileage so I swapped them out for a new set of my old faithful BFG All-Terrain KOs after 6 months of use.Sorry BFG, but STAY AWAY FROM THE MUD-TERRAINS T/A KM2s!I get tons of compliments of how rugged my truck looks with these BFGs.I had some difficulty getting traction on ice when we had a bad ice storm a few years back but place most of the blame on my truck for not being 4 wheel drive. It really sucks that this size does NOT come with the white letters that attracted me to these tires years ago. At least I got to enjoy two sets of the All-Terrains with the white letters before this most recent set that came as blackwalls. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , October 18, 2014
