durable road tire with off road grab

i have been through a small (by no means exhaustive) selection of "all terrain" and "all weather" tires over the years, and have not been so impressed by the all around performance of any of them like i have been by this tire. i can bury the speedo on wet or dry pavement, and have this tire stay sticky in turns and cut loose gradually and predictably; in dirt, gravel, or snow, this pattern stays stapled to the path like it has studs. tread wear has by far exceeded my expectations, possibly owing to the pretty stout blockiness and depth of the knuckly curds. my truck spends more time on the road than off, so i am looking at this from the perspective of wanting a viable trail tire that will withstand the abuses of the highway and town. if you see tire consumption through the same lens, you likely won't be disappointed...i've smoked other tires twice as fast, so until they change the compound these will be worth the trouble to try out. it ain't precisely science, but for... 5/5 robert davis (arlington virginia) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Traction like a Ferguson

0 5/5 Eddie - See all my reviews This review is from: BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO Off-Road Tire - 265/75R16 123S (Automotive) I have gone through three sets of these tires, and they lasted a minimum of 50,000 miles each time. I have driven through 4 feet of snow with these bad boys and never had trouble in snowstorms. I live in the snow belt of New York State, and made several trips during "major" snow events. I have tractored around other vehicles on steep inclines with these tires without ever having to lock her into 4 wheel, thank goodness, they closed the road down minutes later. In slushy situations they seem to stay nice and clean, no build up, and they are great in heavy rain also. I always try to sell others on them because of my personal experience with their performance. I hope this helps anyone out there, I am fixin' to buy a set for my new truck. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , June 24, 2013

    Great tires!

0 5/5 Ed in Albuquerque - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Hankook DynaPro ATM RF10 Off-Road Tire - 265/75R16 114T (Automotive) I have an 07 xterra, 265/75/16's fit with no issues. We have 51,000 miles on a set of these with no complaints. They are comparable in performance to the BFG AT KO's that we have used in the past but much less expensive. The only drawback to the Hankook's is that they do not have the three ply sidewall like the BFG's. If you are a hard core wheeler these are probably not for you. If you need a decent wearing highway tire, that performs well off-road these are your tires! They have a deep tread which requires rotation about every 10 thousand miles(or else they will start to vibrate when braking), I keep them aired to 40 PSI to keep the TPMS system in the xterra happy. Traction wise they have been equal to the BFG's. Because of the deep tread they are a little noisey but I notice it more around town and coming to a stop than on the highway, but they are not loud (for an all terrain tire) by any means. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , July 19, 2012

This review is from: Hankook DynaPro ATM RF10 Off-Road Tire - 265/75R16 114T (Automotive) By far the finest snow going tire I have ever put on a 4WD 1/2 ton. I live over 3000 ft elevation with 7% grade goat paths for roads. These track almost like running dry, and are predictable when sliding. Give good feedback. Great tire. Funny thing, they handle even better in the dry! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , November 23, 2013

    Great tire

0 5/5 Cherokee boy - See all my reviews This review is from: Hankook DynaPro ATM RF10 Off-Road Tire - 265/75R16 114T (Automotive) I have the 235 65 15 on my jeep Cherokee, and I love this tire. Ive had em for about 10k miles now, and I haven't seen any tread wear. Don't know how you can run a tire for only 150 miles and destroy it, but if I had to take a guess its driving style more so than the tires fault. Off road I have plenty of traction when I need it, I air down to about 19 psi for the rocks. The tires handle ok in 2wd for snow and ice, but as soon as I put it in 4h I'm king of the road. Very quiet tire, much more so than the bfg at/m, and they perform just as well if not better than the bfg's do. Over all I'm very satisfied with this tire. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , February 13, 2012

Best Mud Tires I've owned so far that does just as well on pavement.

My first impression of these tires was that they looked really beefy and nice, i was anxious to get them on my Tacoma and see the whole package. Just as I suspected they looked event better once they were on. My first drive with these tires was really impressive. The sound was fairly minimal for a mud tire. The thing that impressed me the most was how it handled on the pavement. The ride was really soft and smooth, and these tires handles turns better than any tire i have ever owned. I've had BF Goodrich, Bridgestone, Nankang, and none can compare to this tire so far. The true test will be in muddy terrain. We'll find that out real soon. I would highly recommend these tires to anyone. With free shipping, regardless of mounting and balancing fees, I still came out ahead. Amazon really knows how to take good care of their customers, Quality products and has always came on time all the way over to Hawaii it's not expected but I've always received my orders before the estimated shipment... 5/5 James Marques - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ Radial Tire - LT265/75R16 123Q (Automotive) Awesome grip in both wet and dry conditions as well as ice and snow. Ride smooth and handle great. Very impressed so far.;-) of course 4wd helps. Or some added weight in the rear end. Additionally they have a nice appearance and suprisingly aren't very loud for a larger lug tire. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , March 14, 2014

After awhile they get noisy on the road but you don't really hear it until 35mph+. They've been good to me so far, have yet to try them in mud. But i can say I've driven through over 2 feet of snow and didn't even slip. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , December 24, 2013

This review is from: Nitto Terra Grappler All-Terrain Tire - 265/70R17 113S (Automotive) Tires look great, have 2 sidewall choices, Dull black and a glossy black side..make sure they mount them right or you can tell. They ride smooth, for a thick ply tire they are kinda mushy but it really smooths out the ride of the truck. Overall tread is not that deep compared to other all terrains. Great dry/wet traction. Snow isn't the best but they are on a truck. All trucks suck on snow unless you have a lot of weight in the bed. I'd buy them again. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , February 12, 2012

    TIRE SECOND TO NONE!!

This tire is amazing! Sure,it is more expensive than most light truck tires on the market, like the saying goes...you get what you pay for! I have a 2002 DODGE RAM 2500 4X4,a notorious vehicle for tearing up lesser quality tires due to the weight of the heavy axles/load placed on them even when vehicle is unloaded. I have about 8,000mi on my set and they show no wear,I rotated them at 5,000 mi. First thing I noticed about these tires is how quiet they are. For such an agressive looking M/T tire, they are not any louder than the A/T tires I had on it when I first bought my truck. They handle GREAT on the street wet or dry. Trails have a "smoother" feel to them, and Georgia's "red clay/mud" is no problemo. When there is a load on these tires, towing a loaded trailer and such..very well behaved tires!I personally don't believe there is a better 10ply true "all purpose" tire at any price that beats this one, period. It has great looks, high load rating, smooth quiet tire on/off road and a tire... 5/5 TJBohmier_64 - See all my reviews This review is from: Toyo Tires Open Country M/T Mud-Terrain Tire - 285/75R16LT 126P (Automotive) This tire is amazing! This review is from: Planet Bike Hardcore Recumbant Bicycle Fender with Stainless Steel Hardware and Mud Flap (Sports) The description of the part says "Freddy Fenders". Fenders with the "S" on the end means more than one. Since bicycles have two places for them, the foregone conclusion would be that you are buying 2 fenders, not 1. However, only one came in the box despite the photo attached to my confirmation which shows 2, along with the reviews provided which reference 2. Not a good buy simply due to horrible, vague description and questionable business tactics forcing you to hunt down and buy a front fender. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , April 8, 2009

    Not recumbent specific

0 3/5 Tim - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Planet Bike Hardcore Recumbant Bicycle Fender with Stainless Steel Hardware and Mud Flap (Sports) This is advertised as being a recumbent fender, but don't be fooled. The only thing about this that makes it special for recumbents is that you don't have to buy them in pairs, so you can get different sizes for the front and back. Other than that it's just a regular fender. The instructions are for a diamond frame bike, and it took some modification to fit the rear one on my recumbent. All-in-all it seems to be working so far, but nothing special. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , October 13, 2010

    Nice Fender

This is a pretty easy installation for a handy person, and the fender seems both very lightweight and durable. If you're not handy you'll be frustrated by the many small parts including some absolutely tiny Philips screws and should get a bike shop or handy friend to do the installation. Do the installation inside on a hard surface, since if you drop one of those tiny screws into grass or a carpet you'll likely never see it again.Incidentally, pay careful attention to the description of what you are buying. Amazon lists multiple Planet Bike fenders and includes illustrations of both front and rear fenders. (I bought the 20" rear fender for recumbent bikes.) Be sure you're seeing "front" or "rear" in the description so you get what you intend. (Also be sure you're getting the size to match your wheel size.) After seeing the comment from the reviewer who expected a front and rear fender but got only the rear, I read very carefully to be sure I was getting the rear... 5/5 F. J. 0 5/5 Gregero - See all my reviews This review is from: Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ Radial Tire - 33X12.50R17LT 114Q (Automotive) This is my first set of MTZs and I'm buying a second;I ran these tires down to bald (had bad spindle/camber issues) and still offroaded the hell out of them. Just last weekend 9/20/13, I took those bald Mickies out to the Mojave Preserve and ran over sharp lava rocks, shale, cacti, boulders and god knows what else. Came back without a flat and am still running them tires. Will definitely buy a second set (I already have 2 or the 4.) 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , September 26, 2013

    Great

0 5/5 The Barrett - See all my reviews This review is from: Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ Radial Tire - 33X12.50R17LT 114Q (Automotive) Bought 5 of these for my daily driver (Wrangler) with 2.5'' lift. Been great on and off road, rain and snow. Have 50,000 miles on them an counting. Decently quiet ride. Will probably need to replace them next year so expect around 65,000 lifetime. Have had no issues, no flats, so still have a brand new spare. Would definitely recommend for anyone who uses their vehicle for everything and not just an off road vehicle. I'm looking at the MT MTZ's next, since it will no longer be my primary vehicle. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , September 20, 2013
