Slight misfire, no codes. 03 Yukon Denali XL

I used this on a 2003 Yukon Denali XL. The car has 110K miles. There was a slight misfire with no codes, no check engine light. I diagnosed the problem as a failing coil not yet bad enough to throw a code. I got one of these and started to take my best guess (With the assistance of a scanner, and experience) The original plan was to trial and error with each cylinder. (In case you don't know, there are 8 of these on the car). I started with the Lucky number 7. Lo and behold, misfire is GONE !! I guess I got lucky. Please note that for some stupid reason, there were 2 types of coils used on this model year. This particular one is nicknamed "The Square Coil". So naturally, the other one is known as the round coil. The part number for the round coil is 19005218. With that, there are also 2 different sets of coil wires pertaining to these coils. This Square coil takes the ACDelco 9748HH wire. The round coil takes the 9748GG.Amazon has the best price around, don't... 5/5 Steve New York (NYC) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) 0 5/5 NostalgicMom - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: ACDelco D581 GM Original Equipment Ignition Coil (Automotive) Because I am on dial-up this review will also be used for my spark plug wire and spark plug review. The coil fits the 2003 chevy avalanche 1500. We replaced all eight coils, wires and plugs at the same time ourselves. After code 300/305 the shop had replaced the cylinder five coil and 18 days later and $100 lighter the code was right back in.Knockonwood, two month later we're still good. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , September 3, 2014

    A great deal

First, if you are purchasing this for a 2005 F-150 or Eddie Bauer Expedition with a 3V Triton V-8, these are the correct coils. The Amazon selector would have you purchase the 2V version for the Expedition (don't ask me how I know this!). The two valve version is 140032-8 2. Thanks to Amazon's fantastic return policy, it was easy cheesy, lemon squeezy to get the correct coils. Again, these coils are for the 3V Triton engine. As for the coils, they are obviously high quality and they perform as well or better than the originals. I will tell you, though, that I have not tested the removed originals to determine if they are, indeed, bad. My Expedition started "bumping" while easing uphill and I first thought it was a transmission issue. Turns out, it was a tune-up issue. I got over 100,000 miles on the original coils and plugs, so I'm not complaining. The biggest reason, beyond age, to replace the coils when replacing the plugs are that you DON'T want to go through that... 5/5 UK Wildcats Fan!!! Worked

0 5/5 Charlie (New York) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: ACCEL 140033-8 Ignition SuperCoil Set (Pack of 8) (Automotive) My 2007 F-150 was misfiring when in OD while doing between 40-50 mph. At first I thought it was an overdrive issue but after researching it, it seemed a misfire was the cause, either by a defective COP or the spark jumping outside the rubber boot to the nearby cylinder head. I replaced all eight of the COP's with the Accel ones. They were less expensive than OEM COP's and corrected the problem. I remembered the Accel name from the muscle car days of the 70's so had some confidence with the brand. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , December 10, 2012

better than paying dealer $300 to replace 1

0 5/5 Sasko "SASKO" (Buffalo, NY) - See all my reviews This review is from: ACCEL 140033-8 Ignition SuperCoil Set (Pack of 8) (Automotive) After replacing the plugs on my 3 valve things were good. Few months latter a miss when cold at 110,000 mi.,then went away when warmed up . This was the same issue 18 months ago when I took it to the dealer to figure out at 88,000 mi.. Weak coil was the problem only noticeable when cold. Dropped truck off saturday ,picked up monday and $300 later ok. When I saw these coils for that money why not replace all of them and be rid of this issue for a while. Have 2,000 mi. on them and truck returned to window sticker miles per gallon 15/19 mpg. Just remember the last digit 140033 is for a 3 valve, 140032 is for a 2 valve & 140034 is for a 4 valve shows it right on the box of 8 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , October 25, 2011
