    Meh ...

It worked, it's cheap but if you only need it for a once a year or every couple years job then it's good enough for that without spending 3-5x as much on a better gauge set.Mine came with the plastic lens on the high pressure gauge laying in the bottom of the box. The lenses are very cheap plastic, made like a mayonnaise jar lid and they screw on. So don't freak out if you think you got a broken gauge, just screw the lens back on.It doesn't have the high-pressure fitting that GM vehicles use on the high pressure side of the A/C system. So if you're going to use it on a General Motors vehicle AND you need a high side pressure reading then you'd better look into getting an adapter. It finger tightened up just fine on the fittings I used it for and it doesn't appear to leak or waste coolant, so that's a plus. I had no signs of a leak (frost is a very good indicator of a leak) and they connected up to what they fit on exactly as they should. If you... 2/5 S.L. This review is from: Pit Bull CHIMG777 Pit Bull CHIMG777 R12 A/C Air Conditioning Ac Refrigerant Manifold-Gauge Set (Tools & Home Improvement) The product is as it is displayed. The hoses are very short and it does not come with the 3/8 fitting/hose for the alternate high pressure fitting used on some vehicles. If you really want to be able to get the job done, your going to have to buy and additional set of fittings and adapters. The set is sufficient quality for a weekend warrior / hobby mechanic, but I would not recommend them for professional use, there are much better sets out there. A used higher quality set from craigslist would be a better find. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , April 15, 2011

    Great Gauges!

0 5/5 andy dirt - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Manifold Gauge and Hose Set, 4 Valve These are top-notch quality gauges from good ol' Yellow Jacket! The four hose design is very convenient. You can evacute your enitre manifold set and hoses and then charge your system without having to worry about purging. They come with standard length hoses WITHOUT low-loss fittings! I strongly recommend picking part # 93842 which is a 3 pack of 1/4" 45 degree angle ball valves. Automatic low loss valves are bulky and seem to fail at the least oppurtune moment! Make your life easier and go for the ball valves! They fit perfectly and still allow for neat hose arrangement when not in use. Don't forget to take the core depressors out of the hose ends before installing the ball valves. They won't do anything but restrict flow! I would also pick up part # 49190 which is the protective gauge boot set for this manifold. You can't get a nicer set of gauges for this price. They need a few add-ons to be the best but, they're worth it! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , August 1, 2013

2003 Jetta TDI A/C Recharge Success

My A/C pump was not engaging and the dual radiator fans were not turning on when I had the key in the on position and the AC button pressed in. I used this product and now the A/C pump is turning on and the AC is running somewhat cold.Instructions are a little vague so I will share with you my process.TO TEST: I tested with the car engine off to see if the pressure was low. Pressure was low so I turned the car on to fill the system.TO FILL: Car engine must be running the entire time (regardless of vehicle). The 134a refrigerant cannot enter the system with the car engine off. When you press the button to fill the gauge jumps up to the red 'danger' level. This is normal all you do is release button to see the effects of your fill. During the fill, I pressed the button on for 4 seconds and released the button to check my progress. Once I noticed the system pressure did not change much (when button was not pressed in) I incresed the button on time to... 4/5 Danielle "daniellec81" (Walla Walla, WA USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Interdynamics MAC-134 EZ Chill Refrigerant Refill with Charging Hose and Gauge - 18 oz. 4.75 Stars for an EZ AC Fix

I'm not an expert, so I really liked that the refilling process was simple.1. Wait until the weather outside is between 75F to 85F (because that's what temperature gauge was calibrated to(some other refrigerants have a variable weather adjustment, but not this company)).2. Turn your car on, set the AC to full blast and wait a few minutes.2. Screw the small end of the hose to the refrigerant can head.3. Attach the big end of the hose to the low side port by holding back the quick release of the hose and then letting go of it when the hose is on the port.4. Let the gauge measure the pressure. If your gauge is not working correctly, it's probably because your compressor is not spinning (it stops spinning when your car is really low on refrigerant). You need to add a bit of refrigerant at this point just to get a pressure reading.5. Take the blue cap off the can and spray for a couple minutes. Make sure to have the... 5/5 Pan - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Interdynamics MAC-134 EZ Chill Refrigerant Refill with Charging Hose and Gauge - 18 oz. (Automotive) I was very pleased to be able to receive this product from Amazon, I know that the EPA has lifted restrictions on the sales of Freon to only certified technicians but surprisingly the Automotive stores in my area told me they still wouldnt sell it to just anyone... I told them I'ld get it on-line, good luck with that was their response. I received and installed this product and my AC works good as new!!! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , July 29, 2011

    Issues but seller was great

0 5/5 charliec "charlestconger" (Texas) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Enviro-Safe R12/R22 Can Tap with Gauge - R-134a Can to R-12/R-22 Port When I used the Gauge and can tap combo the piercing valve was apparently bent such that it made a large hole in the Freon can seal. This mean as soon as I removed the system from the suction line the remainder of the Freon, which I was going to use on another system, leaked out. I reported this to the seller and they immediately sent me another can of R22a and filing hose. I charged using the superheat (Google it) method since this was a fixed meting device (flow-rater) system. This requires the guage to be accurate which I did verify within 2 PSI.This is great support! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , October 5, 2012
