    Good tank

0 4/5 StepanK (NJ) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Marine 6 Gallon Reinforced Portable Fuel Gas Tank W/gauge for Boat - Five Oceans (Misc.) Very good overall tank. Very study, easy to transport if need it. I gave 4 star because it was difficult to fill up. I think it is problem of all shallow tank. Gas pump shutoff every few second. Also it was difficult to clean up drops of gas around cap. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , July 15, 2013

    Horrible Product !!!

0 1/5 Randy T. Hamann - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Attwood Corporation ASM Gauge 6-Gallon Gas Tank (Sports) I purchased this tank recently, it fit nicely into the bow compartment of my boat. The label on the tank said it may swell and this is normal and engineered into the design. I had no idea that it would swell in to a potato shaped mess rolling around in the bow of my boat, it swelled 1" - 3" in various directions and to top it off the fuel gauge stopped working after 1 week !!! Stay Away !!! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , May 23, 2014

Nice Tank and Cheaper Than In-Store

0 5/5 Timbo Burrito - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Attwood Corporation ASM Gauge 6-Gallon Gas Tank (Sports) Found the same tank at a boat store for about 10-15 dollars more. I did need to go in and buy the male/female ends to connect the fuel line. Don't forget those items if necessary. Easy to read gauge and it holds gas for the boat. Not much else to say, would buy this item again. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , May 14, 2013

    problems

0 1/5 James Jarman - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Attwood Corporation ASM Gauge 6-Gallon Gas Tank (Sports) This tank swelled due to being in the sun. I understand that this is normal. It even says on the packaging that the tank will swell if in direct sunlight and that the tank is built with this in mind. I don't worry about it exploding or anything as some of the other reviewers are. It is perfectly normal for a non-vented gas tank to swell. My problem with this tank is that when you vent the cap to let the pressure out, the tank does not revert back to it's original size or shape. I have a bulged out, misshaped fuel tank now that won't fit under my boat seat anymore. I'm returning it for another. I guess I'll just have to store the tank indoors between uses. Not exactly ideal by any means. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , July 20, 2013

0 3/5 Richard E. Davis - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Moeller Marine Fuel Tank NPT Connector (Johnson/Evinrude, 1/4", Male) (Sports) It works alright, I just wish they fit a little tighter. I had to buy a new female end and they just don't fit tight enough. They don't leak but there is a gap in it. I bought the other end at another place and that might be the problem 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , August 14, 2013

    Better than OEM

0 5/5 Will - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Moeller Marine Fuel Tank NPT Connector (Johnson/Evinrude, 1/4", Male) (Sports) The Moeller fuel tank connector is a better design than OEM tank fittings in that with the Moeller design the hose does not torque the tank fuel connector as much. OEM fittings and those from other manufacturers have a "stem" which connects to the tank then the fuel line adapter is fixed to the stem. Movement of the fuel hose, which always occurs, then twists the tank fitting, sometimes resulting in leaks or damage to the tank. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , July 19, 2013

    Tank nice but cap leaks.

0 4/5 Rational (USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Moeller A/D Portable Fuel Tank with Handle (Sports) I can find no fault with the tank itself. It is plenty thick and seems well made. The newer style ratcheting cap however, is another story. It simply begins to ratchet before it is tight enough. It therefore seeps fuel. I tried the old style cap from my previous tank (non-ratcheting) and it worked fine without leaking. On the plus side, I called Moeller and they are sending me a new cap. We'll see how it works.Update Oct 15:I talked Moeller into sending both an old style cap as well as a replacement style ratcheting cap. They both seem to work fine, with no leaks. I have bumped the rating for the tank assembly up to 4 stars for good customer service. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , October 3, 2012

    horrible...

0 1/5 PGpnw (Cutchogue, NY United States) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Moeller A/D Portable Fuel Tank with Handle (Sports) I used the fitting suggested for this tank. Filled the tank and gas started flowing out of the port where I put the johnson fitting. It's a terrible design and doesn't properly seal (the spot where you put the fitting in is in two pieces and it splits apart easily when you tighten your connector). Ten bucks in gas later, spill at the station, and now I have to find a disposal site. Don't buy this. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , July 30, 2013

Good fuel tank just be careful when tightening the cap.

0 4/5 steve T - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Moeller A/D Portable Fuel Tank with Handle (Sports) I got this fuel tank for my 14' jon boat. The 6 gallon moeller tank I had took up the back of the boat. I bought this tank and have room for a battery now. Carefully tighten up the fuel cap or you will over tighten it and break the threads. My cap is usable but I didn't want to break it completely so I just used my old fuel tank cap and it works great. Not a bad tank just be very careful when putting the cap on it. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , September 22, 2011

    Defective Item, Split at Seam

0 1/5 Bill B. (Whitney TX) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Moeller A/D 12-Gallon High Profile Portable Fuel Tank (Sports) Item split at seam, leaking out over 6 gallons of fuel onto boat and into water, after first use. Could not handle pressure of Texas heat.Addendum: Amazon quickly refunded my money on this (Thank you, Amazon!). I purchased the much more expensive 15 gallon topside permanent mount tank from the same manufacturer -- the plastic is much heavier and there are no seams. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , September 21, 2012

Bought 4. 2 leaked from top gauge. Do not buy this product

0 1/5 Lisa Hochhauser (PARAMUS, nj, US) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Moeller A/D 12-Gallon High Profile Portable Fuel Tank (Sports) I purchased these items during the aftermath of hurricane sandy because we were running a generator and were dealing with gas shortages. The tanks had easy to read instructions with clearly identified fill lines. I followed these to the letter. Two of the tanks still leaked from the gaskets around the gauges and if possible I believe from the seals. Note they were not filled above the level but with movement and pressure the gas managed to come out signifiantly and I now have an SUV with gas smell I am unable to get out. I would return them if I could figure out how to ship something that had gas in it. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , December 12, 2012

    Nice tank, long shipping time

0 3/5 JDFan - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Moeller A/D 12-Gallon High Profile Portable Fuel Tank (Sports) Shipping took 9 days. The quality of the tank is excellent, but by the time it arrived I had to purchase and install another brand (Attwood) for my trip. This Moeller tank has a cap with a funky vent lock that requires you to push a tab under the cap and turn to open partially, then you can open it all the way. That's a pain, but apparently it allows you to vent the tank before opening. There is also a manual screw vent on the top of the cap. No biggie, but I also noticed the gauge is not very accurate. It is pegged empty with almost 5 gallons left, and reads half with 8 gallons. It is a 12 gallon tank. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , September 25, 2013

Expect a 5 year service life....

I wrote one of the original reviews on this can. I purchased both the 2-1/2 gallon one and the 1-1/4 gallon one in 2005. Both worked as advertised and I gave the can a rating of 5 stars. In the Summer of 2010, I found this one to leak. A small crack had developed in one corner due to repeated expansion and contraction due to temperature chanegs in the outdoor garden shed, where this can was stored. The crack leaked gasoline all over the floor of the shed. The second one developed a similar kind of leak withon a month or two of the first. The original ones had "lifetime" guarantees. I had purchased another 6 months before. I believed that the warranty had been reduced to 3 years.I decided not to contact No-Spill although I know that they would honor the warranty. The first ones had a tendency to leak if the cap was not tightened a certain way. The newer ratcheting cap ones are less likely to destroy the gasket, when tightened due ta... 3/5 Happy Shopper (Greenville, SC) - See all my reviews This review is from: No-Spill 1405 2-1/2-Gallon Poly Gas Can (CARB Compliant) (Lawn & Patio) I wrote one of the original reviews on this can. Good company...product has had some flaws.

I started using No-Spill fuel containers several years ago, because other containers available locally were so lousy. The design and operation was just as it should be. The first version I had was the non-CARB model. The spout was not removable, you filled it from a second cap on the opposite side of the handle. I operate at landscape business and my containers are often left out in the sun. After three or four months, the containers all developed splits that allowed fuel to seep out. The splits all occurred near the handles. I had four of them, and No-Spill replaced them all under warranty. The second batch all did same, but the splits occurred in a different location this time. All split in the indentation on the sides. The plastic seemed to be a little thinner in that area. These lasted just a little longer than the first batch. Once again, the company replaced them under warranty. You could argue that they should not be left out in the sunlight, and that this would... 3/5 D. Whitmore - See all my reviews, August 10, 2010
