This is *the* gas can to buy!

0 5/5 Jeff N (Tennessee) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: No-Spill 1450 5-Gallon Poly Gas Can (CARB Compliant) (Lawn & Patio) Now that gas cans are no longer allowed to have vents, most of them are clumsy and spill prone. Not this one - it is the best gas can I've owned! Well worth the money. The button makes it easy to control the flow of gas. This is especially helpful when your five-gallon can is full and the tank that you are filling is in an awkward location (such as my old sears garden tractor). Also, the "CARB" lining of the can will help keep your gas fresh (as well as being environmentally correct). It turns out that some components of gasoline can evaporate right through the plastic the traditional cans. This means that after a month or so the composition of your gasoline will be changed. The lining on the new cans prevents this from happening. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , June 20, 2008

Can you be in love with a Gas Can???

Background - I purchased two of these gas cans to provide fuel storage for a back-up generator. I wanted something that would allow my son or wife to fill the generator without spilling fuel everywhere when I am away.Research - I went to the local "Big Boxes" and looked at the cans that they had. A gas can is not a gas can, and what I found was that they were still selling the same style I had bought two years ago for my lawn tractor. I found that the style sold most places did not flow well and lacked a filter to keep contamination out of the generator. I went on to Amazon, then to this companiy's website. Based on the features described on the website, I decided that I would give these a try.Out-of-the-box - Amazon did not take much care in packing these, not that they are fragile, and it just would be nice if you could not see inside the box from sloppy taping and the receipt was not taped half in and half out of the box. I buy a lot from Amazon, and never... 4/5 Robert "Flightdog" (New Hope, PA United States) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Worked fine till the cap spilt.

0 3/5 BONES - See all my reviews This review is from: No-Spill 1450 5-Gallon Poly Gas Can (CARB Compliant) (Lawn & Patio) Purchased this No-Spill gas can the same time I purchased my Honda Generator. This is a good can, doesn't rust, and won't chafe you or anything else it bumps against.Smelt gas in the garage the other day. Found out that the black cap, although it looks pretty robust had cracked in half. Can no longer tighten the spout system or use the can. The can is in perfect condition, just that there's no spout sytem due to the broken cap. I donot over tighten the cap, it has an "O" ring so I just make the cap snug. This unit only lasted a couple years. I only store gas in it for emergencies, filled it maybe four times this past two years. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , November 7, 2010

The tank is well built and works fine but my issue is with the fittings required to hook up your tank. i would recommend that you find a tank that is not as high (height) as this one because although it will barely fit under the seat of my pontoon when you go to buy a fill tube fitting it will be difficult to find in hardware, plumbing, or home improvement store. you will need an fitting that is a 1 1/8 inch inside diameter, 90 degree elbow that sets in your fill tube. My problem was they didn't have a elbow with 1 1/8 inch inside diameter as every plumbing shop uses sizes 1 inch, 1 1/4 inch, 1 1/2 inch or larger. You can find the 1 1/2" flex radiator hose at any automotive store at a dollar an inch that will extend and bend to connect to your outside fill cap. ended up using a boat drain plug that would expand then close at the 90 degrees. I used my old breather hose/vent and connected that easily. I cannot pull up to a gas station and fill my tank so now i have to take the hose... 3/5 mophead - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Very Happy - Must Have

0 5/5 M and K (Dover, NH) - See all my reviews This review is from: No-Spill 206 Flexible Spout Extension (Lawn & Patio) I own this and added to my no-spill fuel cans. I've updated this review after using it for two years.Pro:+ Quick and easy to add on (press fit)+ Transparent tube to see fluid+ Comes with a simple cap to keep dirt out of the line+ Still very good two years laterCon:- A little short and rigid to go where I want it toBottom line: Recommended. A must have, although I'd prefer (buy) one that's 2-3 inches longer. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , February 6, 2010

$5.00 to $8.00 for an 8 inch piece of semi-rigid tubing is ridiculous. It barely bends before it kinks. Can't be Returned

Vastly overpriced for an 8" piece of semi-rigid tubing with a cap. This 8" long tube is fairly rigid, will not retain any bend (it springs back to straight) and can't be bent very far before it starts to kink. There are no valves or anything else that makes this short piece of tubing special. It comes with a cap that you don't really need. The description of this simple product is mind boggling and seems designed to obfuscate what you are buying. What you are purchasing is an 8" long tube with a cap that happens to fit on the spout of a "No-Spill" brand gas can. Once this tube is slipped onto your "No-Spill" gas can it becomes a 6" extension. BTW - do not assume this short piece of tubing fits any other brand of gas cans!BE AWARE -- this product can NOT BE RETURNED, under any circumstances, even when purchased directly from Amazon. The reason - which I discovered only after the fact is this short piece of tubing was designed to handle a hazardous material... 1/5 JustAnotherEngineer (USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Defective Item, Split at Seam

0 1/5 Bill B. (Whitney TX) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Moeller A/D 12-Gallon High Profile Portable Fuel Tank (Sports) Item split at seam, leaking out over 6 gallons of fuel onto boat and into water, after first use. Could not handle pressure of Texas heat.Addendum: Amazon quickly refunded my money on this (Thank you, Amazon!). I purchased the much more expensive 15 gallon topside permanent mount tank from the same manufacturer -- the plastic is much heavier and there are no seams. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , September 21, 2012

Bought 4. 2 leaked from top gauge. Do not buy this product

0 1/5 Lisa Hochhauser (PARAMUS, nj, US) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Moeller A/D 12-Gallon High Profile Portable Fuel Tank (Sports) I purchased these items during the aftermath of hurricane sandy because we were running a generator and were dealing with gas shortages. The tanks had easy to read instructions with clearly identified fill lines. I followed these to the letter. Two of the tanks still leaked from the gaskets around the gauges and if possible I believe from the seals. Note they were not filled above the level but with movement and pressure the gas managed to come out signifiantly and I now have an SUV with gas smell I am unable to get out. I would return them if I could figure out how to ship something that had gas in it. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , December 12, 2012

    Nice tank, long shipping time

0 3/5 JDFan - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Moeller A/D 12-Gallon High Profile Portable Fuel Tank (Sports) Shipping took 9 days. The quality of the tank is excellent, but by the time it arrived I had to purchase and install another brand (Attwood) for my trip. This Moeller tank has a cap with a funky vent lock that requires you to push a tab under the cap and turn to open partially, then you can open it all the way. That's a pain, but apparently it allows you to vent the tank before opening. There is also a manual screw vent on the top of the cap. No biggie, but I also noticed the gauge is not very accurate. It is pegged empty with almost 5 gallons left, and reads half with 8 gallons. It is a 12 gallon tank. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , September 25, 2013

Newest model improved with screw on vent tube.

0 5/5 Mic (Atlanta, GA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Unified Marine 50052017 6GAL Gas Tank (Sports) I had this same tank which was purchased in 2010. Last week I called the manufacturer and informed them that the tank was leaking around the base of the vent tube, and they sent me a brand new tank at no charge. I received the new one yesterday, and it now has a removable vent tube with a rubber type gasket which makes this thing 100% leakproof. Also, I can now replace the fuel filter and pick up tube if ever needed. They've also improved the gas cap with a self-ratcheting (clicks when tight) fuel cap. Hopefully you will get the updated version if you order this tank. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , May 8, 2012

    Not what is pictured!!!!

0 2/5 Timothy Cook - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Moeller Boating Topside Fuel Tank (18-Gallon) (Sports) The tank pictured is similar, but not the same as what. I received. The tank I received has the same dimensions and capacity, however it does not have the extra metal plate, nor the built in fuel gauge. The built in fuel gauge pictured is compatible with their conversion capsule for attaching a gauge, or can be removed to install their universal sender. However the tank I received didn't have this. The one I received had the gauge built into the actual fuel cap, and cannot be made to use with a remote gauge. Plus, my tank was obviously a returned item as it was severely scuffed and scratched up. Beware of this tank if you want þo use it with a remote gauge, as the picture is misleading!! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , May 3, 2014
