    Looks like the real thing

It's apparently either the OEM Nissan part in a genuine Nissan box, or an indistinguishable knockoff from "OES Genuine" in a "Nissan" box (who knows anymore?). It included a replacement fuel tank seal and three new fuel line clips, and an already mounted new fuel temperature sensor. That said, the OEM Nissan sender is a frequently replaced part due to a design defect that will cause power to the fuel pump to become compromised (the missing star). No problems with the installed part, and the fuel-level sender seems properly calibrated.FYI: On 1st-generation Xterras, the sender can be accessed through a cover under the right-rear seat. Using a mirror, it's a fairly simple inspection for green corrosion inside the fuel-pump power connector (the smaller, 2-conductor connector). If there's any green in there, then in really needs to be replaced.Replacement of the sender unit is reasonable straightforward, if a little cramped. OEM fit for 2000 Nissan Xterra

4/5 Sarge104 (Montana) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: OES Genuine Fuel Tank Sending Unit (Automotive) This was very difficult for me to find for some reason. Considering this part covers nearly four years of Xterra vehicles I was surprised. Easy replacement and the only problem is some minor adjustment that needs to be done to accurately determine fuel level.Pro: Includes screw, clips, gasket seal, and sending unit.Con: No instructions, specifically relating to the adjustable parts on the sending unit(film). 5/5 Yi Cheng - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: OES Genuine Fuel Tank Sending Unit (Automotive) Exactly same as original, for an old Nissan Xterra (2001), it is very important to replace the seal ring coming with the package, don't forget it, otherwise you might get a check engine light for some leakage problem. Also be very carefully not breaking the screws which tight the sending unit on the gas tank. Very high quality and something I'll probably never have to replace again.

Extremely high quality construction. Works with a series of reed switches and fixed resistors. The float contains a magnet that opens/closes each reed switch as it moves. No variable resistor to fail and reed switches are often rated for billions of actuations. While this sensor gives a series of steps rather than being continuously variable, it's more than precise enough for a boat, which is likely to see large differences in fuel level at the sensor from to the boat pitching and yawing in response to chop, wakes, and acceleration. The length shown is the actual length of the sensor as measured from the bottom of the mounting plate. IT IS NOT THE RECOMMENDED TANK DEPTH FOR THE SENSOR, as specified by some other manufacturers of similar sensors. Order a sensor at least 1" shorter than the depth of your tank. So if you have an 8" tank, you would order a 7" deep sensor. If you don't have sufficient clearance, you risk the sensor hitting the bottom of the... 5/5 Fred M. Good, accurate replacement for the old swingarm sender

5/5 S and N Webster - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: KUS USA Fuel/Water Level Sensor - SSS/SSL (Sports) It is a direct replacement for a 15 year old swingarm type float switch. This switch is linear in reading my fuel level up to a little over half tank, because the tank is slanted and the switch mounts in the lower half. I haven't used it much, but it should be excellent at predicting my remaining fuel near empty. When this gauge reads empty, I had better be arriving at a fuel station; my old one wasn't so predictable. My gauge is a Yamaha digital and it connected easily, however you should use waterproof butt connectors and hardware it. (My old one screwed on.) I just hope it lasts, because access to the tank is in the console behind the batteries. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , July 27, 2016

Not accurate, improper readings throughout fuel use cycle in '79 Ford truck with standard 19 gal tank

What use is a sending unit the does not send accurate levels and work with existing factory gages?None!I purchased this sending unit as I needed to replace the fuel tank in a '79 Ford F-150, the logic being, better to replace the working sending unit as it is old and may fail. The Spectra unit reads full when tank is full, but quickly drops to less than half after a few gallons used.Thinking my 19 gallon tank was almost empty, I filled up to discover it was in fact, half full. The sending unit reads empty when 8 gallons remain. It seems as though the taper of the variable resistor in the sending unit is different from the factor spec unit, incorrect resistance taper renders this unit unusable for a 1979 Ford truck.I am disappointed in the inaccurate reading from this sending unit and can not recommend purchase. This is a poor quality product and Amazon should consider selling such a sub par item, or at least remove it from fitting a 1970's Ford... 1/5 Millermix - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Should of bought an OEM for my 84 F250 with a rear 19 gallon tank.

1/5 Shawn - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Spectra Premium FG73A Sending Unit for Ford Pickup (Automotive) Bought this for my 84 F250 with a 19 gallon rear tank. Looks the part, but the brass studs for the pig tail are over sized and I had to really force the plug onto them. It worked but was about a 1/4 tank off, then after a couple weeks it doesn't even register. Could be the tank is low and being it's off by 1/4 it's not registering? If you can swing an OEM, buy it. I wouldn't waste my money on this brand again. I never bough into the old saying, "you get what you pay for". Disappointing for sure. 2/5 Roadrage - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Spectra Premium FG73A Sending Unit for Ford Pickup (Automotive) I purchased this sending unit along with a new 19 gallon tank to install in my 1975 F-100. Everything fit very well and the sending unit works, but not well. When the tank is full, the gauge reads full, but it reads empty after burning 10 gallons of fuel. I'd rather know when the tank is empty than full, so I guess I'll have to put a variable resistor in parallel with the sending unit and try to dial it in to read empty at the correct point. Otherwise, I'll have to keep stopping for gas every 100 miles. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , July 5, 2016

5/5 Krum (Morgan City, La. United States) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Omix-Ada 17724.09 Fuel Tank Sending Unit Kit 15 Gallon (Automotive) This is much better quality than the Dorman brand. This unit is easily adjustable with the use of an ohm meter. Simply bend the tabs to read 73ohms at empty and 10ohms at full and install. Of course on an old CJ you'll probably need a new gauge and also clean the connectors front to back..FYI it's the pink wire! fuel tank work - 1977 Jeep CJ-5

all as represented with new spring nut/collar and new o-ring seal...after years of the fuel gauge not working i finally dropped the tank to replace the sender along with some very rotten lines (you can only get to by lowering the tank). the new sender fit pretty well, i had the tweak the pick up line a little bit, otherwise it was hard against the bottom of the tank and the whole thing was in a pretty tight bind. this might not be a manufacturing fault, my tank has had a rough life - years ago i was rear-ended and the hitch caved in the skid plate and "sprung" the tank a bit.Be careful to bend the line without crushing it if you don't have a tube bender. This was not an afternoon project for me. The tank was full of rust and dirt (probably from years of being fueled out on the ranch from jerry cans) I ended up taking the tank to the car wash and using engine cleaner on it, i left it to dry several days, and then blew out the loose scale that was left... 5/5 Steven R. 5/5 BM - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Omix-Ada 17724.09 Fuel Tank Sending Unit Kit 15 Gallon (Automotive) I bought this for my 1973 CJ5 Jeep after visiting several auto parts stores around my home and most had no clue what I was talking about when I asked for a fuel sending unit. They could order me one but it would have to be modified to work so I opted for this one. And with no surprise, perfect fit and no modifications what-so-eva. So far Omix-Ada has been a blessing for my jeep. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , July 7, 2016
