The sound was showroom sweet with not one exhaust leak anywhere

Well I've been putting up with noisy exhaust since buying my Expedition some two years ago, first was the muffler with the full side seam blown out. I changed this but withing one week my left side manifold started, so I purchased the Dorman replacement, cleaned it thoroughly with paint thinner and then a few coats of silver high heat rust paint and installed it with virtually no troubles whatsoever. It wasn't long after, maybe a whole week that the right side manifold let lose with that horrid sound. I did have troubles getting the old one off but found out later you need to undo the motor mount and jack up the engine a little lol Oh well it was a learning experience, the new one went on quickly from this point after cleaning and using high temp paint. It was when I got the courage to fire her up that things got weird, I turned the key, my starter engaged but I could barely hear that my engine was actually running. The sound was showroom sweet with not one exhaust leak anywhere... 5/5 Richard A. - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Fits a 2001 F-150 with 5.4L

4/5 EEWhiz (St. Louis, MO USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Dorman 674-559 Exhaust Manifold Kit (Automotive) This fit my 2001 Ford F-150 with the 5.4L Triton. It fit perfectly and the supplied gasket sealed properly. My only complaint is that the 2 studs that are supplied to connect the exhaust pipe were very hard to thread into the manifold. Only a small flat on the stud is supplied to get a wrench on it. I had to use a large adjustable wrench to get enough torque to fully seat the stud in the manifold. It could have been a real knuckle buster. Other than that I'd recommend this for an F-150. It was about 20 bucks cheaper than at the autoparts stores. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , October 19, 2014

Great replacement for a great price

The manifold appears to be constructed fairly well. It's obvious that the casting is not quite up to FoMo standards, but It's also nowhere near the price. I installed the manifold on a 2006 Ford F-150 5.4L. What a huge pain. It has been on there for over a month. I'll keep on an eye and ear on it for any signs of degradation and report back. Others have noted that their manifold has cracked after a short period, but it's possible that is caused by installer error. Some tips for removal/installation:Since this is the passenger side (2006 Ford F-150), don't bother moving your exhaust back like some videos on youtube suggest. It's much easier if you remove your starter. That will give you enough room to slip the new manifold up from the bottom. To get the old one out, after you have removed/broken all of the studs, don't mess around and just use a sawzall or equivalent and cut the manifold in half and remove it in two pieces. To remove the... 4/5 highflyer (St. Cloud, MN) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Good Product, Good Price

I called Ford looking for a replacement manifold and was quoted an unreasonably high number, so Iooked for an after market manifold. I stumbled across the Doorman 674-694 Exhaust manifold. This manifold is a direct replacement on my 2008 F-150 (5.4L V8). It is definitely Chinese made, but my initial impression of it is positive. The casting is a little rough, but the critical areas are spot on and it sealed up as expected. I've only had it on for a few weeks, so time will if this is a good casting or not. I'll update this if I ever have quality issues. The price on amazon was around $30 less than the same price from some of the box auto stores, just make sure you get the right one. These are pretty heavy. The Dorman 674-694 only comes with the bolts that attach the manifold flange to the exhaust pipe flange, so you will need to buy the specific nuts and studs separately. M8x1.25 studs will fit many applications even an ls3 camaro

After browsing the interwebs for a while I fond this kit by dorman, I'm not sure what it is designed to fit, but I know that the studs are M8x1.25 thread on both ends which is the correct thread pitch for my ls3 Camaro exhaust manifold hardware. I wanted to switch the factory bolts out for studs that would look nicer with the stainless exhaust headers I installed a few years ago, I loved the look of the arp bolts but I'm not spending 100 bucks on header bolts, I'm sure they are the worlds greatest header bolts but I don't care. these are not stainless but appear to be zinc coated so they shouldn't rust, I did not use the included black nuts because I don't like the way they look. I used some serrated flange 12mm head zinc coated nuts I already had on hand, I needed 2 sets of these to complete my project, there are 10 per package so count up how many you need before you order. fyi these will fit almost anything using metric hardware with 12 or 13mm bolt heads. 8x1.25 is a super common... 4/5 b mcewen (fort worth tx) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) 2 failed during installation, prior to final torque setting

2/5 Amazon Customer - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Dorman 03411 Exhaust Manifold Stud and Nut (Automotive) The head from a stud broke off during installation of an exhaust manifold and another stud completely sheared in half during the same installation prior to final torque settings were applied. As a result, I didn't dare tighten the remaining studs to their final torque setting for risk of breaking others. I would not buy these again and would go with another manufacturer although the manufacturer did state these studs can be torqued to a setting far exceeding what I used.I completed the installation on 22 May 2016 and the remaining studs appear to be holding fine but I don't have much confidence in them. If you intend to torque these studs and bolts to factory settings, I would encourage you to use another manufacturer just to be sure they don't break on you. A must if you purchased BBK's LT headers

5/5 Amazon Customer (The Southeast) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: ACDelco 12617944 GM Original Equipment Exhaust Manifold Gasket (Automotive) HIGHLY recommended over BBK's gaskets that come with their LT headers. I did everything by their specs and my CEL remained on. After checking my sparkplugs (long story) I discovered soot on two of the plug heat covers and decided to change out the gaskets. To my surprise, the thin, cardboard-wrapped-in-aluminum-foil gaskets from BBK had blown. I replaced them with these factory-like gaskets and the CEL hasn't come on since. 5/5 Carson (North Dakota) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Dorman 674-196 Exhaust Manifold Kit (Automotive) Used this to replace a cracked manifold on my '98 Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ with the 4.0. I like that this one has the flex bellows where the manifolds typically crack on the 4.0, so hopefully this one won't share the same fate. My old manifold had actually cracked at the single flange where the down pipe would bolt to. The gasket was nothing special, but has done its job so far.I would've loved putting a header on instead of a manifold, but I could buy multiple of these Dorman manifolds for the same price of one header. This review is from: Dorman 674-196 Exhaust Manifold Kit (Automotive) After multiple research sessions on which manifold to buy for my 99 Cherokee with the 4.0, I decided on this one. There were a few negative reviews but Dorman must have cleared up their quality control issues as of May 2015 because the one I received had beautiful welds and installed without any issues. Perfect fit and finish, no leaks, and engine runs so much smoother with a little more power than before. Excellent purchase and time will tell how durable it is but with the flex joints, it has to be an improvement over OEM. Best price, good product

I just installed this exhaust manifold on a 1994 Jeep Cherokee Sport XJ.On its arrival, the gasket seemed a little flimsy to me, and a different gasket might be an idea for pro-parts conscious folks, but after taking the old gasket off of my engine block they seemed about the same (composition, weight, what seemed to have been original thickness for the old gasket) and the gasket included did seal very well.NOTE to any DIY-ers out there, I highly recommend putting the bottom retainer bolts in upside down (nuts up, basically), so that if they fuse shut in the future, the bolts will be easy as pie to remove... Hacksaw the bolts (middle is exposed on both) and hammer out the bolt ends if needed, no mess no problem. It was a chore to get the bolts off of the manifold (they were fused on from heat) when right-side-up.The donut gasket that comes with the manifold was a tight enough fit that a mallet was required to put it on the bottom mating surface, but... 5/5 Cory (Albuquerque, NM, USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) 5/5 Tim (Arizona) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: DORMAN 917-107 Exhaust Manifold Clamp (Automotive) What a great product for a very common problem that is very easy to install. I had the very common driver side rear most exhaust bolt head break off flush with the head, which is very difficult to extract or drill. As I did not want to remove the head just to fix one exhaust bolt that caused a loud exhaust tick that was driving me crazy. I replaced all the exhaust bolts with the Dorman larger head bolts at the time of install of this product as well so hopefully no more future problems. One final thought I have is install this whether there is a broken bolt or not as it will insure it won't break, basically it is reinforcing a common problem. I forgto to say this 100% fixed my exhaust leak ticking sound. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , February 9, 2017
