    Cheap chinese engine, gets the job done

    The engine works the way an engine should, but there are a few things to worth noting:Good:1. The engine does charge the battery when running, or so the manual claims.2. The shaft is keyed (comes with the key) and is tapped on the end (comes with a bolt). Standard V-belt pulleys fit perfectly without slipping.Bad:1. The wiring diagram for the starter module is really useless. None of the wire colors in the diagram exist in real life, and some of the wire colors on the engine don't exist in the manual.Wiring is not hard, but you can't rely on the manual.1.5. Really the whole manual is crap.2. I have yet to find a replacement starter should it break (and I'm sure it will, it's Chinese).3. The oil level sensor is super sensitive. Vibrations alone at higher RPMs trip it and kill the engine. The solution is simply to unplug it.4.     Good part overall. Some quality issues and may require additional hardware.

    The good ---The part arrived quickly and appeared to be packaged well. The order included a gasket, nuts, and springs for attaching to the cylinder head and exhaust collector. Eliminated the P0420 code and SERVICE ENGINE SOON dash light.The not so good ---The bolt threads for connecting to the exhaust system were damaged and required re-tapping to clean up the threads. Also, the kit supplied 17mm nuts for attaching to the cylinder head. The factory nuts are 14mm. The 17mm will fit the studs on the cylinder head correctly, but the larger outside diameter of the 17mm nuts will not allow a larger socket to fit through the minimal space between the manifold tubes. It was necessary to go to the Nissan dealer to obtain the correct 14mm nuts. in addition, the mating surface of the manifold had a couple of large gouges, although these do not appear to have affected the performance of the part.Overall the part is good and seems to be performing for the intended purpose... 3/5 Tom - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?)     Good alarm but be prepared.

    I installed this system by my self on my 2004 Ford explorer. Viper doesn't like for you to install it by yourself, they want you to pay 400-600 to have a "pro" to install it and take shortcuts. The hardest thing to do is to find the wires in your car and to match them up with the wires that go into the brain. They only tell you very vague information about their wires. The only way to learn more about what wires is to become a licensed viper dealer, pay them money, sell their alarms and then you can get their wiring information. Welcome to the 21st century Viper, google works very well and made my install successful and free.     Car Remote Starter / Alarm Review

    I just bought this model last week and had it installed. There were several remote starters to chose from, and feedback from end users were all over the board. Let me start by saying I'm not the biggest fan of buying anything that has a "5 star" rating from one person and a "1 star" rating from the next. That being said, under that rule alone finding a starter was near impossible. So, I kept my "must haves" to be as specific as possible to rule out as many starters as possible. I needed to have the following: 1.) Something that would let me know the car had successfully started; 2.) a remote that could be recharged; 3.) a remote that would work despite being inside of a building (or otherwise obstructed). Put those must haves together and this is the remote you are looking for. After heeding the advice of nearly every review I seemingly read, I decided I would shell out the cash to have a professional install the remote. Good thing, too.
