Publisher: Scribner Book Company

About this book
"""I found this overview of In-World, Mid-World, and End-World both entertaining and invaluable. So, I am convinced, will you."" -- from the foreword by Stephen KingThe Dark Tower is the backbone of Stephen King's legendary career. Inspired more than thirty years ago by works as diverse as J. R. R. Tolkien's epics, Robert Browning's poetry, and Sergio Leone's Westerns, this is the tale that Stephen King has never abandoned. When he typed the first sentence in 1970, King feared the telling might take several lifetimes, but two thousand pages and four books later, the end is in sight. Published in anticipation of The Dark Tower V: Wolves of the Calla, A Concordance, Volume I is the definitive guide to the first four books in Stephen King's bestselling epic fantasy series, The Dark Tower. With the hundreds of characters, Mid-World geography, and the High Speech lexicon, this comprehensive handbook is one no Dark Tower fan will want to be without. It is the perfect way in for readers new to the series, or the perfect way back in for longtime fans who read the first four books years ago."

Decent product, if you can find a door that will shut with it on

Well, let me start off by saying I bought this yesterday (Valentine's Day) returned it today because I couldn't find a door that would shut with the equipment installed. I'm disappointed because I think it would be a good exercise product & I was really looking forward to trying it out. I gave it 4 stars because of the price, quality & ease of installing/removing & storing it. I'd like to give it 3.5 stars though, b/c I couldn't find a place to use it in my apartment. Also, shop around.... I bought mine at a local Dick's store for $99.99 plus tax, didn't have to wait (or pay) for delivery.Pros: - Seemed well made for the price. (Didn't get to use it, so don't know about longevity, but nice out of the box) - EXTREMELY easy to install. From the box to installed in 10 minutes. Very easy to put up, take down & store. (I easily moved it around to every door in my apartment trying to find a good place to use it) - Small, light weight & portable... 4/5 addicted to amazon shopping (Rochester, NY) - See all my reviews Well, let me start off by saying I bought this yesterday (Valentine's Day) returned it today because I couldn't find a door that would shut with the equipment installed. Great concept/poor quality

The Weider X-Factor Door Gym has a lot of potential. I like the way it fits on the door forming a triple X and that it's portable and lightweight. I even like the more than enough resistance it provides at different levels for different muscle groups. This equipment has quality resistance bands as well as hand handles and ankle straps; it even comes with a how to DVD.Where this equipment fails is in the lack of quality in the pulley wheels; they are made of cheap plastic. It doesn't come close to the same high quality as the rest of the pieces.Out of the box two of the wheels were warped. When I exercised, the wheels would scrape against its housing making a very loud annoying sound. I could still hear it through my headphones with the volume turned up.Needless to say I returned it. I did not replace it.The quality of the cheap plastic wheels doesn't appear to be made for extended use over a long period of time. Anyone who bought a... 1/5 E. Bands not same strength

There are some good aspects of this exercise aparatus: The metal brackets and pulleys are very solid. They feel like real gym equipment. The bands are good too.The huge problem is that the bands on the right and left side don't provide the same resistance. I felt the difference immediately and so I did two tests.---------------------------------Test #1:I stood on a scale and weighed myself. The scale read 258.5 lbs. Then I moved the scale to the right side of the door and hooked up to the 60 lb band at the bottom right and stood on the scale with the handle as far down as my arms normally hang. The scale read 265.Then I moved the scale to the left side of the door and hooked up to the 60 lb band at the bottom left and stood on the scale with the handle as far down as my arms normally hang. The scale read 271.So you can see the band on the right was providing 6.5 lbs of resistance and the band on the left was... 1/5 Alex - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) What we needed

We decided on this tower after looking all over the net for different models. We also went to various local stores looking at different options. Between Amazon's price and free shipping, this was the best deal. It arrived about 6 days after we ordered it. The assembly was easy enough. It took my fiance and I about 30 minutes to put it together. The packaging was good and there were no missing parts. Based on the packaging, even a hole in the box would probably not lead to lost parts. The nuts and bolts are packaged in a larger package together so it would be difficult to lose them. There were some small scratches on a few pieces. If we cared, we could hit it with some hit touch-up paint. The scratches do not go through the paint and are hard to see. We are not planning on fixing them. I am a big guy (230lbs) and the unit easily supports me. As I lose weight, the unit should only get more stable. Obviously any tower that is compact is not going to be as sturdy as something you would... 5/5 R. Rundio (Suisun City, CA) - See all my reviews, July 16, 2009

    Solid Product

0 5/5 Monte (CA, USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Body Vision PT600 Power Tower (Sports) Easy to assemble and strong. I am 6'3 and there is enough room for me to do chin-ups facing away from the apparatus. Also there is enough head clearance from the chin-up bar when I do dips. I would buy again and would reccomend. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , March 3, 2007

Very hard to buy these things online

This product has a few major flaws that make it not worth the money. For some perspective, I'm a 30yr old male, I work out very often and I'm 5'9".1. the arm bars are too far apart and are Not adjustable. This makes dips painful on your shoulders, rendering this part of the machine useless. If you have very very broad shoulders it may be okay for you. But when you pay over $100 for a machine that only does three things, you'd like for all three things to work.2. Even if you could do the dips without pain, you'll hit your head on the chin-up bar if you're any taller than say 5'4". This is why some of the machines put the dip station on the opposite side- a better idea.3. Again, because the arms are so far apart, it actually makes leg raises much more difficult and awkward.4. While safe and pretty sturdy, the machine rocks slightly during pull-ups. To avoid this you have to put your back on the back brace when doing pull-ups.In general, I think it's... 2/5 regular guy - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?)
