    One-of-a-kind must-have

This is one of the best mass-market human body books available on the market. DK (Dorling Kindersley) has published yet another marvelous eye-opening jewel. This book's 3D digital art and design is what separates it from other human body books. This hardbound book also contains a durable vinyl jacket (not paper jacket) and an interactive DVD.Unlike the other previously-published DK Human Body books, like the pocket-sized blue-covered Human Body book, this book has 3 distinguishing features:1) Amazing 3D computer-generated digital art, complemented with high-quality photographs. Some of the best features about this book are the amazing digital art, book design, and overall aesthetic impression.2) Detailed, up-to-date extensive text that covers human anatomy, physiology, and diseases. The text is much more detailed and extensive than most other DK Human Body books. There are also a lot of "infoboxes" and some very helpful tables and charts.3) An... 5/5 Jerry L. the Bibliophile (California, United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: The Human Body Book (Book & DVD) (Hardcover) This is one of the best mass-market human body books available on the market. The Best Anatomy Book Ever

0 5/5 Amazon Customer (Hartland, WI United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: The Human Body Book (Book & DVD) (Hardcover) I've studied anatomy and physiology in college, and taught the basics for over 30 years, and this is the best resource I've ever laid my hands on. The information is concise and up to date, and the pictures and illustrations are incredibly detailed. I've learned something new on every page. I've just undergone bypass surgery on my heart and afterwards a plural effusion on my lungs. This book helped me understand my problems better than my doctor had. This is a superb book that I will use as a reference text after reading it word for word. DK you've done it again! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , October 17, 2007

Pretty good for the most part

0 3/5 K. Brennan "anatomy nut" - See all my reviews This review is from: The Human Body Book (Book & DVD) (Hardcover) This book was pretty good for the most part; however, I did find some errors in the anatomy (at gross and cellular level) and labels (duplicates and otherwise). There is a vast amount of information contained in it, but the artwork is not very consistent and most of it appears to be renders straight from the 3d program that was used. There are many dynamic and interesting views of the material covered, but that is set back by some of the textures on the models. It seems like a few extra months were needed for the book so that some finishing touches could be applied. One thing that does irk me is that the nerves are green...As a collector of anatomy, medical, histology, and biology books, I can recommend this book; but will stipulate that there are others that I definitely prefer.KB 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , February 28, 2008

0 1/5 Amazon Customer "chickenlittle25" (Carlisle, PA) - See all my reviews This review is from: The Human Body (DVD-ROM) I spent 1/2 hour trying to figure out the registration code (try telling 0 from O and B from 8) only to find out that all this thing does is take me to a website where they expect me to buy more things. There is no actual program. No human body, no bones, no interactive stuff EXCEPT a link to their website to buy more programs. I bought a disk that only lets me into a website where they want me to buy more stuff? I can't believe Amazon is allowing these con artists to sell their product here. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , December 4, 2010

    Okie Dokie

0 3/5 dh. Dudley "John 14:6" (Sacramento, CA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: The Human Body (DVD-ROM) Probably OK for Elementry, Middle School, and High School level kids; and maybe adults with little knowledge on the human body. However, I found it to be somewhat too basic for my purposes. Would prefer many more graphics, photos, and much deeper in depth material. Still, not a bad tool for learning and relearning the amazing human body. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , January 16, 2010

    Excellent value, engaging graphics

0 5/5 Thompson "TeachontheBeach" - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: The Human Body (DVD-ROM) I purchased this product to use with my elementary Science classes. It is easy to use, with compact yet thorough definitions. The graphics really make this software engaging and fun. The voiceover is informative, but not overwhelming for multiple ages. I am also a physician and I think this provides a thorough introduction to Anatomy and Human Biology for kids. It's a great value for the price as well. Mostly presentation style. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , September 24, 2009

0 2/5 Sylvia Groff (POTTSTOWN, PA, US) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Human Anatomy and Physiology Study Guide (App) I am slightly disappointed, I thought this would have a more complete section at least for bones but it covers the basics. example, the femur has many different parts (head, trochanters, condyles, etc) but this app would only cover Femur without its subparts...a good companion study tool but by no means stand-alone. worth $2 maybe but not $9.99. wish I hadn't bought. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , February 7, 2012
