About this book
THIS TIME TOGETHER is 100 percent Carol Burnett – funny, irreverent, and irresistible.  Carol Burnett is one of the most beloved and revered actresses and performers in America. The Carol Burnett Show was seen each week by millions of adoring fans and won twenty-five Emmys in its remarkable eleven-year run. Now, in This Time Together, Carol really lets her hair down and tells one funny or touching or memorable story after another – reading it feels like sitting down with an old friend who has wonderful tales to tell.  In engaging anecdotes, Carol discusses her remarkable friendships with stars such at Jimmy Stewart, Lucille Ball, Cary Grant, and Julie Andrews; the background behind famous scenes, like the moment she swept down the stairs in her curtain-rod dress in the legendary “Went With the Wind” skit; and things that would happen only to Carol – the prank with Julie Andrews that went wrong in front of the First Lady; the famous Tarzan Yell that saved her during a mugging; and the time she faked a wooden leg to get served in a famous ice cream emporium. This poignant look back allows us to cry with the actress during her sorrows, rejoice in her successes, and finally, always, to laugh. From the Hardcover edition.

Versatile & compact, but with some caveats

After unpacking the box, the setup was reasonably straightforward and required no tools. The setup instructions were adequate, but I would have liked to see more, and larger, pictures. Line drawings would have been clearer. Also, the instructions don't mention that you should install the Tower 200 on the side of the door opposite of the way it opens (e.g. if the door swings out, install it on the inside). If you don't, all the stress from pulling on the gym will transfer to the door's latch and hinges, which is probably a bad idea. Maybe that's obvious, but I didn't realize it until I was almost done installing the gym on the wrong side. The metal brackets that contact the door have insufficient padding, and may scuff up your door. I added some stick-on rubber bumpers to avoid this. The brackets are wide enough to accommodate a thick door, up to approx. 2 in. (5 cm). The downside is that if your door is thinner, like my interior door, there will be some forward and... 3/5 Error404 (Southern CA, USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Body By Jake Tower 200 Full-Body Exercise Gym (Sports) After unpacking the box, the setup was reasonably straightforward and required no tools. Big bang for your buck!

I purchased the Tower 200 at my local Target store for $200, which came with a $30 Target gift card. This means that the Tower 200 actually cost me $170. I completely agree with the other reviewer on all points. It's well made, easy to install, and you can start your workouts almost immediately. I suggest watching the DVD first, which is included with the package. The workouts are effective and fairly safe to do. The excercises on the manual look good but lack detailed instructions. If you're familiar with bodybuilding, I'm sure you can figure it out. The kind of people that would get the biggest bang for their buck, are probably weekend warriors that want to get in shape, but don't have the time or money to go to a gym. I believe it's safe to use if you're in your 40's or 50's. I'm a martial artist, and use it for conditioning and strength training. I especially like doing the 11 minute and MMA workout shown on the DVD. Good product, good price.

0 4/5 Judo Jeff "J." (U.S.A) - See all my reviews This review is from: Body By Jake Tower 200 Full-Body Exercise Gym (Sports) I bought this item with little knowledge of it. I had read mixed reviews of it on here but decided to go with my gut feeling and just get it. It's a pretty good product over all, installs easy to any door, and is fun to use. The workout instructions are somewhat vague, but the dvd certainly helps. For those of you that are always at the gym or are in incredible shape, this wont help you much. For those of you that are crunched for time or have little experience at the gym, this is a nice workout item that can get you into shape. I incorporate this in my martial arts, regualr gym, and cardio workouts and it fits nice. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , February 24, 2010

    I MADE IT BETTER

THIS IS MY OLD REVIEW: The Tower Xpress is more than less than the Tower 200. It comes with four pulleys at the top, but no pulleys at the bottom. So if you need to do exercises that require you to pull upwards or for your legs you have to switch the pulleys around. WHAT A PAIN IN THE BUTT! Why couldn't they just have 8 pulleys to begin with. And another thing you should know, the top part requires spacers at the front to make sure your door will shut by leveling off the top door brackets. I sent an email inquiring if they sell extra pulleys. I await their response. I'm sorry but they just didn't think this product through all the way. Well I just called body by jake customer service and they said they don't sell pulleys as a separate item. I might remove 2 at the top and put them at the bottom. THIS IS MY UPDATE: Since they don't sell pulleys separately I switched the two lighter cables and pulleys to the bottom and will leave it that way. Now I can do exercises lifting up AND... 4/5 JACK LOBO "ljb926" (Greenwich,CT USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Body By Jake TWRXPRESS Tower Xpress (Misc.) Tempting - But Only Buy It On Sale

    I. PERSONAL BACKGROUNDI am a 55 year old male, 5'5", and approximately 127 lbs. I've enjoyed some form of exercise for most of my teenage and adult life. From racing with a swim team, to earning my black belt in Tae Kwon Do. I currently workout at home using Bodylastics resistance bands, my own body weight, and some weights. I purchased the Body-by-Jake Tower Xpress in November 2011.II. REVIEW:Like with the Tower 200 - as another Amazon reviewer succinctly wrote - the product is really a glorified resistance band system. In essence, all you're getting are resistance bands attached to a metal frame. The Tower Xpress is the lesser known little brother to the Tower 200. It consists of 4 (four) resistance bands: 2 x 25 lbs. of resistance and 2 x 40 lbs. of resistance, making for a 130 lb. maximum total. The Tower Xpress retails in select stores (Target, Kohls, et. al.) for $80.00. Love it!!

I love working out at home. I already have adjustable dumbbells, adjustable bench, heavy bag, speed bag, and speed rope. I just added this recently and I love it!!! I bought 40 lb cables and 35 lb cables with it for more options. I've heard complaints about no pulleys on the bottom so you have to switch it. It's not difficult to do your routine with the pulleys on top then turn it around ( takes like 1 minute) and do your routine from the bottom pulleys. Very convenient and easy with so many options of what you can do. You can target every muscle with multiple exercises for each. I've heard people complain about you can't pull from the middle. If you know what your doing or do a little research you wouldn't need that. And they never claimed to have that so you knew that before you bought it. The handles and ankle straps work fine. The dvd is informative but there's so much more you can do so don't stop there. Perfect for your home as well as when you travel. And I've used it on... 5/5 Frank Golino - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Body By Jake TWRXPRESS Tower Xpress (Misc.) I love working out at home. 0 5/5 Dan - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Champion Cable Attachment Package Pack (Sports) I was really impressed with the quality of this product. All three attachments are gym quality and very solid.- The rope is very thick and heavy duty. The rubber ends are securely fastened.- The straight bar has a ball bearing swivel (not the squeaky metal cuff on a metal bar you typically get).- The V bar is nice and heavy.NOTE: For some reason, Amazon changed the primary seller for this item to a vendor that is charging an outrageous amount. Do NOT pay $286.79! The other sellers sell it new for $35 (I bought mine through eSportsonline). 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , September 7, 2009

Got these like 3 weeks ago. Just about when I was contemplating replacing my old (early 2000 model) York home gym Pecs/ Lat machine, (equipped with an approx. 48" long lat bar), I saw this set, and because of the tremendous reviews, I decided to try them.....Very satisfied with entire package/set! Period! These 3 pieces transformed that sleeping artifact into a Triceps/ Lat machine monster to say the least. All three pieces are really of high quality materials - Commercial Gym grade as they say- and you would find these pieces highly worthy of whatever type/ brand equipment you wish to use them with. Just one click into your existing carabiner clip and you're off into a whole new "burn". Just two (2) weeks of use and arm muscles that were asleep are suddenly bulging and I'm looking like I truly "pump".I wont even complain about the fact that I had to pay near 1.5 x the actual cost of the items for shipping etc. to get it to my address here in the... 5/5 TriniBoy JusDre - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Fantastic Workout!

I love this DVD. I tried it on Exercise TV and knew immediately it was a keeper. I really like the 40-minute total body workout with Marco Reed because it's really tough! I normally do a boot camp and these are the kinds of exercises I'm used to doing. He leads you through burpees, weighted jump squats, weighted jump ropes, plank rows, squats with military press, lunges, pushups and more. The exercises are not complicated to learn, but they are certainly tough and you will sweat! In Marco's workout, there are two 20-minute sets of exercises. He does each exercise for 45 seconds and then you get a 15 second break while he demonstrates the next exercise. Each set has 10 exercises; you go through them once and then repeat them in reverse. There are only a couple of issues. There's no warm-up or cool-down, so be sure to do your own. And at the end of the workout, two exercises are skipped. If you do the routine, it's easy to spot because you're doing the exercises in... 5/5 Houston Mom (Houston, Texas United States) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Excellent Quality and Workout

The package came in roughly about a week and a half with the free super saver shipping which was awesome. I was very excited to open it and give it a try. Upon first opening it, you will notice the machine is basically assembled for you. All you have to do is put in 3 bolts and a couple of pins to hold the pull up bar as well as the foot bar. Overall it took about 20 minutes. The actual instructions on how to use it are not very clear, although once you figure it out it really is very simple. My only complaint is that it states it is supposed to come with a workout poster full of the exercises but it does not but I was able to just google some Total Gym routines which are essentially the same exact thing. As some one who used to be a gym rat, I really enjoy this machine. Work and other responsibilities as well as membership costs brought me to purchase this item and I don't regret it at all. The name describes it perfectly

Full disclosure: I was not able to buy this from Amazon as I didn't have the cash to spare, so had to buy it from another retailer where I have credit; this same review is at the other retailer's site, should they approve it.This machine is better than my basic Bowflex Power Pro hands down. With just 30 seconds between sets, it really gets the heart rate pumping much more than the same sets and timing using the Bowflex. I guess because the type of exercises is much more varied with this machine, such as rowing and even pull ups. And the 4 added resistance bands are a stroke of genius.I also use it to stretch my troublesome lower and upper back and left shoulder out by inclining fully and just kind of hanging for a few seconds. It really helps my back being able to stretch it out so easilyI do have to mention that it is a louder than I thought it would be when gliding, but not enough to wake someone up. Also, you cannot disconnect the cable to do... 5/5 Mickelson#1 - See all my reviews This review is from: Weider Ultimate Body Works (Sports) Full disclosure: I was not able to buy this from Amazon as I didn't have the cash to spare, so had to buy it from another retailer where I have credit; this same review is at the other retailer's site, should they approve it.This machine is better than my basic Bowflex Power Pro hands down. With just 30 seconds between sets, it really gets the heart rate pumping much more than the same sets and timing using the Bowflex. I guess because the type of exercises is much more varied with this machine, such as rowing and even pull ups. Amazing!

0 5/5 J. Penegar "Golfer393" (South Carolina) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Weider Ultimate Body Works (Sports) This is truly an amazing piece of exercise equipment, especially for less than $150. It is extremely stable and well built. Don't waste your money on a Total Gym. This is just as nice if not nicer than the base model TG, and allows for more exercises. I don't think there's a single muscle you can't exercise with this. It seems pretty fun to use, which for me is VERY important. A few minutes a day should work wonders. You need to have a good 8 foot of space to use this. It's narrow, only a couple of feet wide, but when extended it's over 7 foot long. I'm very pleased with this purchase. I only wish I had bought it years ago. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , July 31, 2013

    NOT QUITE THE SAME SIZE.

0 3/5 JACK LOBO "ljb926" (Greenwich,CT USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Body By Jake Tower 200 Universal Resistance Bands Hand Grips Handles (Misc.) I was wanting to buy 5 additional pairs of handles for my tower 200 so I could quickly go up or down the different tension cords. But I also wanted them to be the same exact thickness in the sponge as in the ones that come with the tower 200 for maintaining that extra squeeze, but unfortunately they are not. They are thinner. In fact they are exactly the same size as the replacement handles I bought a couple of years ago. Some buyers said they were the same size so I bought one pair to test the waters. I don't think they intentionally mislead me. I just think they weren't fully aware what I exactly meant. So if thickness and that extra squeeze is a non factor for you go ahead and buy some extra handles, the price is good. As for me I'm disappointed and have no need to buy any more pairs 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , July 21, 2014
